Tau & Shabba Amongst Top Dribblers In The League
Kaizer Chiefs’ Siphiwe Tshabalala and Mamelodi Sundowns’ Percy Tau have shown off their abilities with the ball at their feet and are amongst the top five players that have completed the most dribbles per 90 minutes this season.
Following his breakthrough season in 2016/17 for the Brazilians, Tau has started all three of Sundowns’ league games this season, proving himself as a key member of Pitso Mosimane’s first team by scoring twice. However, that is not where it ends for Tau as he boasts a figure of 3.6 dribbles per 90 minutes, which is the highest in that category in the league.
Tau is followed by Bidvest Wits’ Elias Pelembe, who has completed three dribbles per 90 minutes in the two games that he’s turned out for the club. Pelembe is joined by his teammate, Gabadinho Mhango, who finishes just behind him on the charts with 2.9 dribbles per game.
Then Siphiwe Tshabalala, turning out at the age of 33 in all six of Chiefs’ games. His attacking movements have proven to be vital as he made 2.5 dribbles per 90 minutes thus far. The top five is then rounded off by Thapelo Morena and Neo Makua, who join Tshabalala with 2.5 dribbles per 90 when turning out for Sundowns and Ajax Cape Town, respectively.
