Transfer Update: Sundowns Sign, Chiefs And Pirates Release Players


The final 10 days of the July/August transfer window is currently underway and Soccer Laduma takes a look at some of the transfers which took place leading up to this weekend’s Absa Premiership clashes.

Mamelodi Sundowns completed the signing of former Free State Stars striker, Thokozani Sekotlong last week after he was assessed by head coach Pitso Mosimane and his technical team.

Kaizer Chiefs confirmed that the club released four players that were surplus to requirements at the Soweto giants, namely, Sibongiseni Ngcobo, Itumeleng Shopane, Luthando Sichaso and Surprise Khopotse.

On the other side of Soweto, Orlando Pirates confirmed that they have parted ways with Nigerian goalkeeper, Emmanuel Daniel, who has not made a single appearance for the Bucs since joining.

Bidvest Wits received a boost in the form of Phakamani Mahlambi who returned to the Students after the player underwent a trial in Portugal with Vitoria Guimaraes.

Baroko FC confirmed the that Chiefs club legend, Doc Khumalo, has been appointed as the new technical director at the club.

Golden Arrows bolstered their goalkeeping department by acquiring the signing of former Milano United keeper, Sherwyn Naicker.





On the other side of things, the immediate future of Khama Billiat and Leonardo Castro is still currently hanging in doubt and it remains to be seen whether the duo will complete a move away from Masandawana before the current transfer window closes on August, 31.

Ajax Cape Town’s Rivaldo Coetzee is set to complete a transfer to European outfit, Celtic FC, while the immediate future of Cape Town City’s Lebogang Manyama is still under much speculation.
