Three TUT EFF students arrested for corruption

Three Tshwane University of Technology students were arrested after they allegedly demanded R100 000 from a private security company in exchange for the institution extending its contract, the Hawks said on Wednesday.
The national anti-corruption investigation unit was informed and staged an undercover operation at the Tshwane University of Technology, spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said.
The three, aged between 25 and 30, were arrested shortly after receiving R40 000 in cash in Pretoria on Tuesday.
One of the men was a member of the student representative council. All three were believed to be EFF student command members, Mulaudzi said.
They would appear in the Specialised Commercial Crime Court on Thursday.
