Cape Town – The City of Cape Town's Law Enforcement Marine Unit arrested a Chinese national at his residence in Green Point for illegal possession of ivory accessories on Saturday.
The officers found the suspect was illegally in possession of ivory fashioned into bangles, beads and chopsticks to the value of R100 000.
He also had 16 shucked Abalone, a number of exotic fish stomachs, exotic dried fish and three shark jaws in his possession.
Authorities confiscated cash to the amount of R31 538.
He was taken into the custody of Sea Point police station.
