Transfer Update: Sundowns Announce Two Signings, Chiefs' Triallist Still Waits

The 2017/18 PSL season is officially underway and with just two weeks left of the current transfer window, Soccer Laduma takes a look at some of the transfers that took place leading up to the past weekend's fixtures.

The quarter-finals of the 2017 MTN8 campaign took place this past weekend, 11 to 13 August, with Bidvest Wits, Maritzburg United, SuperSport United and Cape Town City all booking their spot in the semi-finals of the competition.

The likes of Bhongolwethu Jayiya, George Lebese, Oupa Manyisa and Ayanda Patosi all made their official debuts for their new teams on the weekend.

City's Benni McCarthy and Maritzburg's Fadlu Davids also made their debuts as official head coaches of their respective sides, with both mentors claiming wins in their first games in charge.

The Mother City club officially confirmed the signing of former AmaZulu FC goalkeeper Sage Stephens just hours before their clash against Polokwane City on Saturday, with the player immediately included on the bench for the team on the day.

Mamelodi Sundowns' new signing Razak Brimah was absent from the squad on the weekend, however, with the club confirming that the player is still awaiting documents from Spain.

It was also confirmed by Soccer Laduma last week that former Free State Stars striker Thokozani Sekotlong is currently on trial with the Brazilians, with the club yet to confirm whether or not they will add him to their plans for the new season.
