Transfer Update: Chiefs Release, Pirates And City Sign Big, Sundowns Quiet

Cape Town City began this week by announcing a marquee signing, acquiring the services of former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Teko Modise.

It was subsequently revealed that Kaizer Chiefs have opted against signing trialists, Mahamadou Traore and Tanaka Chinyahara, who were  being assessed by Head Coach Steve Komphela and his technical team.
Bidvest Wits appeared to have taken a break from the second week of the transfer window, after acquiring the signings of the likes of Steven Pienaar and Slavko Damjanovic last week.
The Students are currently undergoing their preseason camp in the Western Cape and it remains to be seen if any new additions will be made to the squad in the coming weeks.
Orlando Pirates bolstered their goalkeeping department with the acquisition of former Sundowns shot-stopper, Wayne Sandilands, and landed the signature of Nigerian striker, Christian Obiozor.
Sundowns on the other hand have been relatively inactive in the current transfer window, however  the club is currently being linked with a number of players such as Rivaldo Coetzee and Jeremy Brockie.
With a month and a half to go until the transfer window closes shut, it remains to be seen whether the likes of Wits, City, Chiefs and Pirates will make any more additions to their squads.
